Dahlia Tubers Buyer/Seller Responsibilities
Dahlia tuber sales date to be announced to my email community first, so please join on the homepage “get updates”. Be the first to know of events, sales, plant sales, workshops etc., to keep in touch with what’s happening at the Farm.
Due to export regulations, shipping is only within Canada.
Sold as single tubers, sizes vary depending on the variety. I guarantee all tubers will have at least one eye (may or may not be visible at time of shipment) and are true to variety. Size does not matter with dahlias. A small tuber will grow to a full-size plant.
All dahlia tubers are grown here with great care & attention, planted, grown & harvested by hand. We do not resell imported dahlia tubers. I cannot guarantee virus-free, but I can guarantee I take every precaution, care and diligence to grow clean stock! Any plant not up to standard is immediately removed.
All pictures on the website are an accurate representation of the bloom as it grows here. Please note that the colour and size of blooms can vary drastically in different climates, soil types, growing conditions, and rainfall, etc.
Pick-up option is available in Fergus, choose ‘Pickup’ on checkout.
I will contact you WHEN YOUR ORDER IS READY with scheduled pick-up dates available. (please add email to your contacts kat@seedsofimbolc.ca so it doesn’t end up in the ‘junk’ folder!)
Pick-up orders start in March. Please OPEN IMMEDIATELY AND REPACKAGE FOR STORAGE OR POT tubers UP. Packaging is not necessarily good for storing tubers.
Early shipping cannot be accommodated. Tubers will NOT be held past mid-April as the tubers are starting to wake up and grow, and need to be planted.
Items in your cart are not confirmed until checkout is fully complete. If you notice items disappear from your cart or change to “Unavailable” during the checkout process, it is because someone else checked out and paid for the item before you.
This is an issue which is beyond our control and dictated by our ecommerce platform. Placing Dahlias in your cart does not save them; only a purchase will.
Note to those new to Dahlia sales: Veteran dahlia shoppers are very fast 🙂
Payment for purchases via e-transfer ONLY: to kat@seedsofimbolc.ca OR seedsofimbolc@gmail.com.
( I don’t want to have to raise prices for big corporations like Paypal. Credit card purchases are not free – we have to pay one way or another.)
Please enter the order # on your bank electronic transfer (Interac), so your order & payment can be easily connected. Once payment is recorded, you will receive another email confirming your order is now being “Processed”. If you do not receive this, check your email address provided on your original order.
Once your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation immediately – if you do not, your email could have been entered incorrectly – unpaid orders will be cancelled after a short period of time (30 minutes) due to the nature of the product and short window of opportunity for the farmer -inventory will be returned to be offered again. (Dahlia sales are usually fast & furious)
Enter your email address carefully, it is the only way to contact you. A phone number is very helpful.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
SHIPPING CHARGES: On checkout, charges are automatically calculated on a flat rate schedule in our software (unless local pick-up).
No minimum purchase is required; however, the cost of delivering tubers is the same. FLAT RATE SHIPPING IS IN PLACE, NO MATTER THE SIZE OF THE ORDER. Please keep that in mind for small orders.
When dahlias have been woken-up, checked for eyes, picked, packed & complete, ready to ship, you will receive a notice with the tracking info from Canada Post. Don’t forget they will be arriving in March/April/May, depending on the weather! Watch your email for notification of shipment & plan to retrieve them!
You can ask Canada Post to hold your parcels at their facility for pick up if you prefer, so they are kept inside. Tubers cannot freeze, or they will turn to mush.
All Dahlia orders will ship in the spring, usually March for local & April, possibly late April or May for BC or cold areas, all depending on your location and the weather.
In the past, I have been able to ship out most Ontario orders in March when there is a break in the weather.
WATCH YOUR EMAIL FOR TRACKING INFO!
I do not use heat packs & cannot ship out west early.
PLEASE MAKE SURE EMAIL DOES NOT GO INTO YOUR JUNK OR SPAM FOLDER!! It is the only way I can contact you.
You will receive an email from Canada Post when your package ships with a tracking number. You will be responsible for picking up your package in a timely manner, as we cannot be responsible for drying out, frozen/rotting post-shipment. They will be packed in perfect condition in protective packaging to prevent damage during transit, but as with all freight, we will not be responsible for the performance of the carrier, including in the case of late, delayed, or damaged shipments and can provide no guarantees with respect to delivery times. Canada Post gives an estimated day of arrival with your tracking information. Flat Rate shipping boxes are expedited parcels.
When you receive your new tubers, open your package immediately.
