MARIZOL GOLD: This is my favorite bicolor tomato. This stunning heirloom does exceptionally well producing large amounts of huge up to 2 lb. gold and red marbled fruit. Large, deep-golden fruits, which are slightly flattened, have slightly ribbed shoulders with a red blush and red streaks on the blossom end, and throughout the flesh also. ( pink blush gets much more intense towards the season end )
A real treasure of the season, this tomato is simply beautiful sliced to show the red marbling inside.
The meaty flesh has a rich, outstanding sweet flavour , mild with some acidic bite and small seed chambers. Vigorous with no cracking experienced here, even in the hottest summer.
This stunning bicolor heirloom (1890) originates from the Black Forest region of Germany, via Joe Bratka’s grandfather. Joe shared seeds with Carolyn Male in 1990, and she listed it in the 1992 SSE Yearbook.
Late Indeterminate, regular leaf foliage. (85-90 days from transplanting)
