Exhibition mums require a long growing season, some protection from early frosts, lifting to save over winter.
good to do a bit of research to learn to grow well
Not always winter hardy here. Begins blooming late October early November here.
Chrysanthemum ‘Purple Light’
This purple sport of First Light has outstanding colour and took best anemone at the national show in 2002. It's easy growth habit and colour make this a must for any grower.
Plant it in full sun and average soils toward the back of the flower bed and plan on staking to keep the tall growing stems upright.
not reliably winter hardy here
small blooms
Chrysanthemum ‘Kings Delight’
You will be notified with pick up dates when mums are ready in early spring. We do not ship plants
Our cuttings are taken from our own mother stock and are produced and grown on our farm.
A large and showy quilled bloom, close as you can get to a true pink.
Blooms mid-late October here.Chrysanthemum – ‘Billy Bell’
Chrysanthemum Billy Bell is truly stunning, with large, white, slightly open petals. This is probably one of the more popular show varieties. When grown well there is no early flowering mum that can quite match this for size! Bold and dramatic, it's sure to turn heads with fully double, large, incurved blooms.
This early variety blooms for me here in Zone 5 outside but recommend frost protection (like an unheated greenhouse) as we never can be sure of the frost dates.
