Ammi majus

Ammi majus Annual Lacy flower heads 5–6″ across  which attract beneficial insects such as lacewings, lady beetles, minute pirate bugs, syrphid flies, and parasitic wasps.

Can be dyed in an assortment of colors.  aka false Queen Anne’s lace, white dill, lace flower, false bishop’s weed, large bullwort, and bishop’s weed.

Description

Direct seeding is best, early spring after last frost. Sow seed thinly in rows, covering lightly. Make 2-3 successive sowings, 2 weeks apart for a continuous summer harvest. Or sow 4-6 weeks before planting out.  Harden off and transplant outdoors after last frost. Tips: chill seed at 40-45°F(5-8°C) for 1-2 weeks prior to sowing, cooler temperatures of 58-62°F(14-17°C) are best for seedling establishment. Support is helpful. full sun, 36-50″,  spacing 3-12″,  Stem length 12 -50″.
