Description

Easy to grow, prefers full sun to light shade and average soils. Plants develop long taproots, so generally do not transplant well. Deadhead spent blooms.

Transplant – Sow 4-8 weeks before planting out. Roots need space to grow, once restricted will produce inferior plants and flowers.
Sow lupine seeds outside as soon as the soil is workable 1/4″ deep. There is no need to wait until after the danger of frost has passed, or in the fall so winter can work its magic on the seed coats. Sow in the fall in a cold frame.
**All parts of this plant are poisonous, including the seeds. Exercise extreme caution around children and pets. The purchaser assumes all liability relating to the use of this product. Contain Alkaloid chemicals, primarily lupinine, that are toxic to both humans and animals. The newly emerging growth in the spring and the seeds and pods later in the summer are the most poisonous parts.
The ornamental cultivars of Lupine are not as toxic to humans, although caution should be taken when grown in areas that pets and children play in.

“Met Kat at one of our Horticultural Society speaker nights. Her floral bouquets were breathtaking and her talk was full of interesting and useful information. Her lupin and delphinium seeds are growing beautifully.” LV
