Description

Easy and pest free hardy perennial Zones 4+.  This could be the ‘pale red’ variation of the traditional bright scarlet maltese cross that was mentioned in Curtis’s Botanical Magazine in 1794.
Loving this Dusky pink Maltese Cross (Lychnis chalcedonica “Dawn Sky”)

Native to eastern Europe and western Asia. Arrived in western Europe by the Middle Ages,  imported quite early to the American colonies, and Thomas Jefferson planted scarlet lychnis into flower beds at Monticello in 1807.

I have now ordered from here for several years and I highly recommend it. Kat is very passionate, knowledgeable and ships your order quickly! I love her unique selection of perennials. Lots of our perennials come from here. Some of my favourites are Silverleaf Mountain Mint, Figwort and Lychnis Chalcedonica!
