Description
aka Speedwell or Bird’s Eye. Flower spikes of pink, blue & white that bloom the first year, this sun-loving perennial grows best in fertile to average soil. The 2-2½ ft. tall plants bloom from late June to August. Attracting attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
Plants can be divided and used as an attractive spike for cut flowers. Quick to produce, no insect problems, can be cut back and may rebloom.
Deer and rabbit resistant.
Keep the tiny seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs. Sow Veronica seeds indoors 4 – 6 weeks prior to last spring frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed spacing them 10″ apart, can be sown directly outdoors as well. Height 24-30″
