2024 Dahlia tuber orders (the necessary fine print…)

posted in: Uncategorized | 1

Our collection of farm-grown dahlia tubers will be for sale (Canadian addresses only)  on the date which will be first sent to my email community before the social media announcement.

Please read the following policies before placing an order:

FARM (SELLER) RESPONSIBILITIES:

2022 was my first Canada wide tuber sale and as with most things, I have learned along the way, there is a lot to be said for experience!

Our tubers are small farm grown, here, in living soil, with lotsa love & attention, not imported. (in some cases a few tubers may be sourced from a trusted experienced local grower so I can offer you a wider selection)

Plant health is diligently monitored with strict growing, harvesting, inspection & handling protocols to ensure tubers are of the highest quality. They are all processed by hand, not machinery. Each tuber will have a number or name written or stamped on it, corresponding listing on your invoice. Harvesting & tuber division is painstakingly done sterilizing pruners/tools between each plant – due diligence has been taken to ensure dahlia health.

All tubers will be sold as single divisions. Every tuber is inspected & guaranteed to have at least one viable eye for growth. Tuber size does not matter, they all grow into an amazing plant!  Should any  tubers be unfit to ship a 100% refund will be sent for the product.

Tubers are listed under the variety name I purchased them as or using due diligence, know them to be. The pictures show them as I grow them. This is as far as I can guarantee the correctness of variety.

Tracking information will be sent once order is shipped to the email provided.

Shipping is within Canada only.  Our shipping charge is a flat rate across Canada, we are at the mercy of shipping charges at the time of sale,  its expensive and time consuming to ship dahlias. Shipping will happen usually in April, depending on temperatures (Ontario customers can expect their tubers to ship earlier) Typically orders begin shipping mid April and have all shipped by the end of April, weather dependant but sometimes even late March.(watch for shipping email!)

You will receive shipping and tracking information once your order has shipped. Please note that we cannot accommodate early shipping requests.

Payment is via direct transfer to seedsofimbolc@gmail.com or kat@seedsofimbolc.ca both are set up for autodeposit so should not require a password. If asked for password please check the spelling (recommend copy & paste email address) I M B O L C (no extra ‘i’ at the end)

Transfers are (usually) a free option for everyone. Payment merchants were skimming too much off the top & farm margins are very tight.

Please send a separate transfer for each order, with the order number as reference – much appreciated!

We have a free pickup option for local customers only on set dates to be posted, here at the farm in Fergus, Ontario. Usually this happens in March.  Please keep those dates in mind when you’re ordering.

If you’ll be unable to pick up on posted dates, please choose to have your tubers shipped. If you are away on vacation, have them shipped to someone you choose. (shipping address) I cannot babysit orders – I’m just too busy. I’m just one person doing a HUGE time consuming job while trying to run a farm.

Buyer responsibilities:

SEEDS: Please order seeds on a separate order if you need them before the tubers ship in April. Seed mailing starts at only 4.95 (shipping chart bottom of homepage)

Payment must be received via e transfer with order to hold tuber orders for you.

Please send a separate transfer for each order, with the order number as reference – much appreciated!

There is only a short window where people are shopping the sale & a whole year of work on the line. Inventory may be recalculated for orders not paid as the sale continues. The website gives a window of time for payment to be received before cancelling order.

Payment is via direct transfer to seedsofimbolc@gmail.com set up for autodeposit so should not require a password.

If asked for password please check the spelling (recommend copy & paste email address)

I M B O L C (no extra ‘i’ at the end)

Please enter your invoice number on your direct bank transfer so I can correctly identify your payment to your order to mark it paid!

You will receive shipping and tracking information once the shipping label is created for your order. Add this email to your inbox, so it doesn’t get hidden in the junk folder! Tuber shipping status will be sent to email provided on your order.

Please note that we cannot accommodate early shipping requests.

Shipping is via Canada Post. You may request your Post Office hold your deliveries so they stay above freezing temps.

1) open package immediately upon receipt, they are in perfect shape when they are shipped, very carefully packaged for the journey. Please do NOT leave them out in below freezing temps. Touch of frost will turn them to mush.

We cannot be responsible for tubers once they have been stored or planted by customers. With your shipment you’ll receive detailed planting information and tips for care; please follow it carefully. If there is an issue with your order, please email us within 3 days of receipt of tubers.

Please join our mailing list, (homepage of website ‘get updates’) follow along with us on Instagram & take a look at our upcoming workshop sessions to learn more about caring for your tubers and flowers.

Pick up Orders: If you’ll be unable to pick up then, please choose to have your tubers shipped. If you are away on vacation, have them shipped to someone you choose. (shipping address) I cannot babysit orders – I’m just too busy. I’m just one person doing a HUGE job.

Each order will include a basic dahlia growing instruction sheet.  I encourage you to read it & research into how/when to grow your dahlias in your climate zone.

2) tubers will have at least one eye and have been carefully checked before shipping

3) any problems must be reported immediately, with pictures, no later than 3 days after receipt. I will not be responsible past this point due to storage issues not under my control.

Other factors such as growing conditions, climate etc. are not in my control.  If you see any issues upon their arrival,  notification must be received within 3 days of shipment receipt, with pictures and I will do my best to correct the issue.

4) the only credits past this point will be if an incorrect variety was received, with photos, or if a variety is unavailable at time of shipping.

Photos are taken here but please note that colour and sizes of dahlia can vary drastically in different climate, soil type, growing conditions, rainfall etc. for many varieties.

Tubers are listed under the variety name I purchased them as or using due diligence, know them to be. The pictures show them as I grow them. This is as far as I can guarantee the correctness of variety.

If for whatever reason the website crashes on the sale date, all sales will pause and another sale date will be announced once the problem has been remedied. If there is a lot of activity all at once sometimes the inventory count doesn’t quite keep up – I do my best to keep back enough inventory to fill all orders as best I can. Fingers crossed! Best of luck acquiring your favourites and gratitude to you for supporting my small regenerative farm!
