Description
YAGODKA (which I rhyme with vodka and is Russian for little berry) have been grown for many years here at Seed of IMBOLC, originally from Russia. Yagodka is a small red oval tomato, a large cherry type with great taste. It is perfect for growing in pots and extremely productive, yielding a large quantity of oval salad size tomatoes. An amazing variety that is also very early. .
Yagodka is also sometimes spelled Jagodka. This is a tough compact plant that pumps out large cherry type tomatoes very early in the season. They are a determinate tomato, and once they have produced all they are going to produce they will just stop, with lots of good tomato growing weather yet to go. I don’t actually mind this; I think there are other later tomatoes with better flavour and size that I’m happy to switch to, but it’s great to get some decent early tomatoes without fussing, so the Yagodka are definitely worth growing!
(55-60 days from transplant) Determinate, regular leaf foliage
Approx 25 seeds

Yagokda is my favorite tomato in the whole world. It was the winner of my cold tolerance trials, and is consistently the earliest tomato from my farm in the cold, high elevation mountains in northern Utah.
