Bush Bean ‘Hit Bean ‘

This little beauty is slim, fine, short and delicious even raw! Seeds of Diversity was given a small handful of these seeds from an older gentleman, who has since passed sadly, simply named “Hit” bean. Perhaps he meant they were a Hit in his garden?! Either way, the name has stuck. I grew these out for Seeds of Diversity and now I’m able to offer them to you. Easy to see why he named them a “hit”!
Very slim , short green pods, a fine bean with an absolutely delicious flavour! I am sure they will be a “Hit” in your garden too 🙂

This little beauty is slim, fine, short and delicious – even raw! “Bean Candy”!  Seeds of Diversity was given a small handful of these seeds from an older gentleman, who has sadly since passed, simply named “Hit” bean. Perhaps he meant they were a Hit in his garden?! Either way, the name stuck. I grew these out for Seeds of Diversity and now I’m able to offer them to you. Easy to see why he named them a “hit”!

Capsicum annuum  A  rare family heirloom from Doe Hill area of Highland County, Virginia. This is without a doubt one of the very best peppers for short season areas, and definitely one of the tastiest! Just thinking of slicing into one of these small packages bursting with fresh sweet flavour makes my mouth water! The small round lobed peppers are the shape of old fashioned tomato peppers and turn a glorious gold at maturity or can be eaten green. They do not seem to cause indigestion like others can. very sweet and very productive. Rare and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (60-65 days from transplant)

Pea – ‘Blue Pod Capucijners’
Pea – ‘Blue Pod Capucijners’
The Blue-podded Capucijner (cap-ou-SIGH-nah) is a hardy pea first grown by the Franciscan Capuchin monks. Its particularly beautiful, bi-colored flowers are lilac/pink and wine-red/purple, fading to blue as they wilt; pods are deep inky purple/blue. It is best used to make delicious, full-bodied soups; also an edible-podded sugar pea.  Great long term storage food. Soaring, vining plants are smothered in the most striking dark purple pea pods. A rich eggplant color, these shelling peas are as delicious as they are beautiful; pick early for best flavor. The vining stems make a wonderful and unexpected addition to summer flower arrangements and are a real conversation starter. A must grow heirloom. Beautiful heirloom pea that is pretty enough to grow as an ornamental for the edible gardening fans, even if you don't like peas. The dark colored pods really stand out against the background of the bright green leaves making them very easy to pick. It is a good choice for children and the elderly.
