Breakout is an absolute show-stopper and one of the most lovely varieties I have grown! A romantic bloom fit for any bride or up-shift for any bouquet!
The abundant, extra-large blooms are a soft, blush pink romantic dream, that radiate a buttery warmth from the centre. Developed in 2002, the giant blooms span about 8-10″.
Height: 4.5 – 5′, full sun, Days to maturity: 80-100 days, Plant spacing: 12-18”, Pinch: when plants are 12” tall
Harvesting/Vase Life:
Cut when blooms are ¾ of the way open. Check for firm and lush petals at the back versus papery or slightly dehydrated ones. Place into water with hydrator, or sear stem ends by placing into 160-180° water and allow to cool for 1 hour.

Breakout was my first Dahlia and this one is absolutely stunning. Large blooms started out yellow and then pale peachy pink. Four big blossoms!
