Description
Heat level in these Christmas-light-like chilies (10,000 to 30,000 Scoville heat units) is similar to a serrano chili, that brings excellent spiciness and colour to salsas and sauces. About 12x hotter than a jalapeno.
They pack a punch and bring a lot of colour to a dish, but in terms of flavor, these are not some of the more complex chilies you’ll find so more of an ornamental.
Hot peppers can take a bit longer to get going than sweet peppers. Start seeds indoors 8-10 wks before last frost, then harden off, plant out once soil is warm, full sun.\
Seeded on heat mat germination in approx 1 week here.
