Pepper – ‘Doe Hill’
Pepper – ‘Doe Hill’

Capsicum annuum  A  rare family heirloom from Doe Hill area of Highland County, Virginia. This is without a doubt one of the very best peppers for short season areas, and definitely one of the tastiest! Just thinking of slicing into one of these small packages bursting with fresh sweet flavour makes my mouth water! The small round lobed peppers are the shape of old fashioned tomato peppers and turn a glorious gold at maturity or can be eaten green. They do not seem to cause indigestion like others can. very sweet and very productive. Rare and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (60-65 days from transplant)

Pepper – Amish Pimiento
Pepper – Amish Pimiento
Amish Pimiento Sweet Pepper Capsicum annuum (85 days) Open-pollinated. Pimientos are the sweetest of all peppers—my favorite! Productive and fairly early, thick-walled and crunchy – these compact 1-2’ plants pump out lots of these wonderful fruits. Amish Pimiento plants are compact and sturdy, producing heavy crops of squat, round, 2 by 4” (5 by 10 cm) fruit that ripen from green to bright red. Its peppers are fleshy and apple-sweet, excellent for both fresh eating, drying and pickling.

Pepper – Black Hungarian
Pepper – Black Hungarian
(Capsicum annuum) Beautifully bold and decidedly sweet… There’s a drama to the Hungarian black pepper that’s 100% its own. Its dark-hued skin turns to a rich jewel tone red as it ages, and it delivers a certain sweetness at maturity quite unlike other chilies in its heat range. This is a chili that fits both form and function, working beautifully as both an ornamental pepper and a culinary chili.

PEPPER ‘BLACK PEARL’
PEPPER ‘BLACK PEARL’

The Black Pearl is a stunning ornamental pepper plant! So beautiful that All America Selections (AAS) awarded it for its beauty in 2006.

I love to use these in floral arrangements.

Don’t let the term “ornamental” fool you; these are edible hot peppers with a surprising pop of heat (10,000 to 30,000 Scoville heat units) with a light citrusy-sweet flavour.

Pepper ‘Bolivian Rainbow’
Pepper ‘Bolivian Rainbow’

A stunningly beautiful plant-grown for centuries in Bolivia (Central South America) with 1" cone shaped peppers growing upright on the plant so they are very visible.

Starting out a brilliant purple, turning yellow to orange to red, with all stages of the pepper present on the plant at once, making it a bright and colourful addition to your garden, pots or arrangements.

They grow very well in containers and indoors as well, and as long as direct light can be supplied, you can enjoy these chilies for much of the year.

Pepper ‘Hinkelhatz’ Yellow – Hot
Pepper ‘Hinkelhatz’ Yellow – Hot

When you think “Pennsylvania Dutch” hot peppers don’t immediately come to mind, but here is an old heirloom that was mentioned as early as 1832.

Hinkelhatz means chicken heart in Pennsylvania Dutch and was used in pickling or in hot sauces. This is the yellow very rare strain. Approximately habanero levels of heat which is coveted by those heat lovers for sauces and fire cider.  Little nuance to its flavour, making it perfect for its main uses among the Pennsylvania Dutch – as a chili for pickling and hot pepper vinegar.
