Description
aka Speedwell or Bird’s Eye. Extra tall flower spikes of pink, blue & white that blooms the first year, this sun-loving perennial grows best in fertile to average soil. The 2-2½ ft. tall plants bloom from June to August. Blooms attract attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and are showy, long-lasting cut flowers.
Plants can be divided and makes a long-lasting cut flower bloom and attractive spike. Quick to produce, no insect problems, can be cut back with a lawnmower and will rebloom, repeat bloom is strong and showy.
Deer and rabbit resistant.
Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs.Sow Veronica seeds indoors 4 – 6 weeks prior to last spring frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed spacing them 10″ apart, can be sown directly outdoors as well.Height 24-30″
