Dahlia ‘Moonlady ‘

A real beauty with her pure yellow joyful blooms like a vision of sunshine!  She is classified as a decorative dahlia, although she looks very much like a waterlily with lovely, double blooms. The pure, clear yellow is lovely in bouquets and pictured here with Pink Onesta  – what an energetic pair!

The 15 cm wide flowers are carried on tall, really sturdy stems and a manageable 3′ upright plant, complemented by dark green foliage. Her stout stems are a flower arranger’s and exhibitor’s dream. Very much one to try!!

"Stunning Pink with good exhibition form and strong stems. Strong growing plants will reach a height of between 1.5 m and 1.8 m so plants should be kept well supported. When young plants are growing strongly and have developed 4 or 5 pairs of leaves the growing tip should be removed to encourage the development of flowering stems. Being a slightly later flowering variety than most, we would suggest doing this early June. If you are growing for showing then to achieve the best size for this section we would suggest restricting the flowering stems to 5 or 6 and, once the flowering bud is visible, removing the first 3-4 pairs of buds below this. If you are just looking for garden display then more blooms can be allowed to develop and less side buds. Regular removal of dead flowers will help provide a longer display."
