Dahlia ‘Cafe au Lait’ -Mini!
A few years back I purchased Cafe au Lait. I did not realize the blooms were much smaller than what others were growing as CAL. Turns out this little gem is what some are calling Cafe au Lait MINI ! Who knew? shes gorgeous! this is a happy 'mistake' ;-)
Cafe au Lait has become perhaps the most widely known name in dahlias for its use in wedding work. Its subtle mocha with pink tones 4 - 4.5" flower blends so perfectly in bouquets and its soft shape makes it so easy to work with.
I find it so useful in floral design as a smaller version of the huge blooms, same huge leaves, smaller blooms. See video of arrangement. (see below for more info)

This unique novelty anemone type is a must have!
Plants are smothered in long-stemmed flowers all season long. Blooms are both weather resistant & long lasting in the vase. Layers of creamy petals, streaked with cranberry encircle a large, fluffy golden centre. No two flowers are the same. Polka starts out as a blush bloom, before it develops the signature yellow heart with fine lining. Truly one-of-a kind and a favourite of mine.

A real beauty with her pure yellow joyful blooms like a vision of sunshine! She is classified as a decorative dahlia, although she looks very much like a waterlily with lovely, double blooms. The pure, clear yellow is lovely in bouquets and pictured here with Pink Onesta - what an energetic pair!
The 15 cm wide flowers are carried on tall, really sturdy stems and a manageable 3' upright plant, complemented by dark green foliage. Her stout stems are a flower arranger's and exhibitor's dream. Very much one to try!!
